Imagine you are a Prominent Humanist Psychologist. Write an opinion piece for the magazine why you believe that many of the other perspectives in Psychology are wrong in their approach to Psychology. What would a Humanist Psychologist criticize the other perspective for?

The Humanist Psychological approach views humans as unique individuals. Each person differs from one another depending on their likes, their hobbies, interests, etc. Humans hava a natural drive to try and achieve their maximal potential when working. If each human has different interests and have developed different skills, when working and growing, their behavior and way of living changes depending the direction they decide to take when deciding what to do with their lives. And if humans try to reach their maximal potential regarding the subject they choose to specialize on, then the way a person think becomes influenced by their interests and these create different opinions and thoughts for every single person in the world.

Other Physchological approaches tend to generalize when trying to study humand and their behavior. There is a certain logic to this statement. People are categorized everyday. The division can be made ergarding their culture, nationality, ocupation, gender, etc. Human characteristics and intesrests help structure humans into groups for better understanding of how they function, but withing groups, every person is different. These groups have few or even only one characteristic in common, and based on this theory, other psychological approaches decide to study humans as groups and as if it were a science.

Take any group of humans. It can be Mexicans, artists, students, etc. When analyzed and compared there are characteristics that in fact may be similar, but the reality is that there are many more that differ from person to person, and some of the characteristics that are omitted when studied as a group, can be the definitive characteristic that is the most influential when studying a person.

Everyone is different and diserve to be treated as an individual an not as a group.
