Please describe your dream...
Patient 1 (female, 18 y/o): "In my dream I saw myself crossing a bridge, a really long bridge that seemed to have no end, but I was not walking as I was crossing, instead I was flying, or appeared as if becuase my feet where not touching the ground. I remember I felt I was being chased, but everythime I looked back I could se a King and his Queen silently, but cautiously staring at me. They looked at me as if they were conceared, but everytime I

turned to watch the bridge infront of me I could feel their breating right behind me, as if they where hunting me. Most of the dream consisted of feeling desperate that I could not loose these people, but after a while the other end of the bridge appeared. It led to a Smooth-fronted house where the lights where on and smoke came out of the chimeney, as if it was an invitation for me to come in. Outside the house, a tall and strong tree stood where many little animals lived. When I finally entered the house, I found myself lost in a crowd of people. Faces I could not recognize. I later noticed that I was naked. My clothes seemed to dissapear when I

enered the house. I felt the need to keep looking for someone who could save me from the horrible emarrasement I was feeling. Suddenly the ground dissapeared and I felt like I was falling for a really long time, but afterwards I felt 2 pairs of arms catch me, as if they were saving me. The poepl who caught me where the king and queen who I thought where following me in the bridge. Then I woke up not knowing what was going on."
Observations from the dream include the elements of:
- Crossing of a bridge: this represents Intercourse.
- Flying: A representation of wanting to be
admired.
- King and Queen: The patients parents.
- Smooth-fronted house: A male figure.
- Tree: Male genitals.
- Being naked: Wanting attention.
- Falling: Going back to what you used to be.
With this elements and the story I can deduce that the dream is about how the patients parents are concearned about her crossing the bridge towards the smooth-fronted house, or her daughter having sexual relations with a man. There is a feeling of wanting to be free from her parents but at the end, they are the ones catching her when everything goes wrong. Flying while being chased might be a sign that the patient wants to be admired by her parents and treated with respect.
When the patient enters the welcoming house, she finds

herself nakes, or looking for attention and hoping that she stands out from the crowd, but when that does not happen, everything collapses and there is a realization that there is a
necessity shown by the pacient, where she wants to go back to a stage of her life where she felt comfortable, and the answer to this problem or situation, as mentioned before, are her parents. They will be there tp catch her when and if everything goes wrong.
